Design Project Update | Project Orangeville

As you've probably seen in our recent social media updates, over the last year we have had the fantastic opportunity to work on this beautiful family home in Orangeville. Our clients, a young couple with three boys, gave us the task of creating a wow-factor home for them, using bold colours, fun patterns, and daring elements. We were given free rein with design decisions, with our clients 'daring to be different, allowing us to create a truly stunning and unique home for them. We aren't quite finished with this project yet but we couldn't wait to show you an update on how we're going.

One thing we wanted to do from the start with this home is to use unique and different lighting options throughout to create a sense of luxury and add depth and dimension to the spaces. As seen above, we selected a beautiful replica Lindsey Adelman bubble pendant for the dining room, pairing it with a similar pendant in the living space. We have incorporated natural stone throughout, including the new fireplace feature wall to tie in with the natural outdoor environment. Our clients like to entertain, so a large dining table was a must for their home, and has been beautifully complimented through the use of blue dining chairs.

The main concept for the theatre room was to create a luxurious home cinema, whilst keeping it fun and colourful. We selected a deep blue wall and ceiling paint for the room to keep it dark and moody but added pops of colour through Hollywood-inspired artwork to add a playful dimension to the space. Still in the process of being custom-made, the second row of theatre seating will be raised on a platform to create a true cinema feel.

We kept with the raw, earthy tones in the living room, upholstering custom occasional chairs in warm leather and using moody black tones throughout to add a sense of depth. The living space plays with the idea of different textures, through smooth leather, a textured rug, natural timber furniture and a rust metal fireplace wall. Being the main living space of the home, we ensured it had a homely feel to be enjoyed by our clients and their family, whilst still being unique and a wow factor for guests.

The master bedroom was the space we had some of the most fun with. Our clients wanted a space that felt like a luxurious retreat, whilst not having to leave the comfort of their home. Our design approach for this space was to create a Caribbean concept, using bright colours, tones of green and touches of bamboo throughout. The most stunning element of the space has to be the daring bright yellow palm leaf wallpaper on the bedhead wall, instantly creating a tropical oasis vibe. We complemented this wallpaper with beautiful black mahogany furniture in a bamboo look finish and added a casual, relaxed feel sitting area to be enjoyed as a parent's retreat. This has to be one of our favourite bedroom concepts that we have created!

Keep up to date with our blogs to make sure you don't miss out on seeing the finished project soon!
